- Learn how you can check out the map at low or no cost to you or your school.
- Enjoy a fast-paced training session where you become “certified”to check out the map.
- Learn what resources are available from the Alliance that will make your teaching of geography much easier.
NOTE: teachers and administrators from any other schools or districts are welcome to attend any of the AzGA Giant Map training workshops.
Free, but you must register.
Not only does the Arizona Geographic Alliance have wonderful maps and over 330 K-12 lesson plans on its website but we now own a vinyl map of Arizona, designed for indoor use, that is approximately 17 feet by 21 feet. In addition, activities come with the map as well as items such as plastic chains, traffic cones, and other manipulatives that can be used on the map.
The training is free and limited to 45 teachers and /or administrators. Everyone on the map must wear socks to protect the surface of the map. The suggested grade level for using the map is grades 2-6 or as a Parent Night Activity. Recertification hours will be given for attending this training.
You need to be “certified” to borrow the map, so join us for this training!
