National Geographic Bee – Arizona state level competition
March 31, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
Free
2017 Arizona Geographic Bee is scheduled to take place in the ASU Memorial Union on Friday, March 31.
Opening at 8:00 am, participants and their families can wait in the Ventana Room before the preliminary rounds start at 9:00 am. Participants should go to their room a little before 9 am.
AzGA will be hosting a “Kids on the Map” activity between the preliminary rounds and the final round in the Ventana room (about 10:30 am). This is a giant floor map – 17′ x 20′ — with guided activities. Please wear socks if you plan to walk on the map – no bare feet – and all ages are encouraged to join in the activities.
After the Bee at about 1:00 pm, the ASU School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning will be once more hosting a reception on the 5th floor of the Coor building for Bee participants and their families and teachers. There will be cookies and soft drinks, games, a selfie photo booth with silly hats, and a chance to learn about geography and planning as a career. Hope to see you there!
