GeoDayTrip – Tales from the Crypt

Cemeteries are unique resources for studying the demographics of an area. Come spend the day on a no-cost field experience to several local cemeteries and learn about cultural symbols and gender issues in a specialized landscape, the cemetery. Lesson materials will have students gathering data, analyzing it, and then visualizing it through charts, graphs and other displays. Bus transportation and lunch will be provided.

When: Saturday, February 3, 2018 | 9:00 am – 4:00 pm approximately

Where: Meet Pyle Adult Recreation Center, 655 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282

What to expect:

  • Learn how cemeteries can teach local history and geography.
  • Bus transportation provided
  • Lunch provided.
  • Recertification hours will be given.

Participation is limited to 45 people.

Cost: Free but you must place a $30.00 deposit which will be returned if you attend.

Deadline to Register: In order to join us on this GeoDayTrip, we must receive your registration, including payment, no later than 11:00 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Cancellations must be made by Friday, January 26, or before, to have your deposit returned if you do not attend.

Substitutions are accepted.
