FREE iCivics Professional Development Training for Teachers

September 28, 2017

Overview: How do we ensure our students become engaged citizens and take informed action? By implementing meaningful lessons that build critical thinking, problem solving and participatory skills, that’s how! Through games, lessons, web quests, and more, students learn how the government works and how they can do their part in being an informed, engaged citizen. Students will compare personal and political rights with social responsibilities and personal duties, while learning how they can make a difference in their community.

Training Objectives:
· Educate youth on their rights and responsibilities
· Explore the iCivics.org site to learn about the educational tools located there
· Encourage youth civic engagement and participation
· Provide lessons and activities that will encourage successful engagement
