2018 Arizona Council for History Education Annual Conference
The 2018 A.C.H.E. Conference – Saturday, August 25, 2018
Salt River Project Corporate Office located in Tempe
Uncovering History: Reasoning and Inquiry in History Education
The theme for this year’s conference is: Uncovering History Education. Through this theme, this year’s conference will focus on the use of historical reasoning and inquiry skills to address historical topics that may need to be “uncovered,” including controversial issues, difficult histories, forgotten voices in history and differing perspectives on familiar topics.
With the timing of the conference right before the start of school, we will have presentations that will equip teachers with essential secondary sources, quality primary sources, engaging classroom activities, and “shovel-ready” projects. Sessions will include U.S., world, and Arizona history, and innovative ways to teach and share history.
