Long-time ACSS member and social studies teacher at Cave Creek High School Barbara Hatch will be honored by Arizona Humanities with the 2017 Friend of the Humanities Award on February 24, 2017 in Phoenix.

Arizona Humanities  offers teachers many opportunities for professional development, learning opportunities, and speakers for the classroom throughout the year. Check them out, and by all means support them with your donations!

The Arizona Humanities AZ Speaks delivers the best in humanities scholarship. Our diverse and engaging speakers cover a variety of topics, including film, history and heritage, archaeology, literature, gender and identity, and science and medicine. Speakers are carefully selected based on their expertise and ability to offer content and insight that inspires discussion with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

To reach as many Arizonans as possible, Arizona Humanities works closely with a wide range of organizations, including public libraries, schools, museums, historical and archaeological societies, retirement homes, community centers and civic organizations. Best of all, these presentations are free to the public!
